Design systems cities depend on. Great cities are powered by invisible infrastructure-mobility networks, safety platforms, energy grids, and intelligent data flows.
This is not about apps. We are looking for system-level thinking-infrastructure that works at city scale.
Design a technology-driven system that improves how a city operates.
Your idea could focus on movement, sustainability, safety, governance, connectivity, or entirely new ways cities can function. Think beyond individual users-think about systems that coordinate thousands of components and serve millions of people.
Open to students and builders across engineering and technology disciplines who are curious about solving meaningful, real-world problems.
Students in Computer Science, Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or related fields. Anyone who thinks about systems, infrastructure, and how technology can solve real problems at scale.
Individual submissions recommended for clarity. If working in teams, designate one primary contact.
Initial Review
Our team will review every submission for clarity, feasibility, and system thinking
Shortlist and Interviews
Selected ideas may be invited for technical discussion and deeper exploration
Opportunities
Outstanding participants could be considered for roles, internships, or project collaboration with UCPro
What We Are Looking For:
Clear problem definition, thoughtful system architecture, understanding of scale and reliability, practical implementation considerations, measurable impact potential
Currently Accepting Submissions
Submissions open throughout the expo. Rolling review process-submit early for faster feedback.
Early submissions receive priority review and may have more opportunities for iteration and discussion with our team.
Building technology for real-world systems. Join us in designing infrastructure that cities depend on.
